History
Minority Development Society (MDS) was established through the motivation and personal commitment of its founder, Mr. Late Naseem Raza, and CEO, Dr. Ammar Ahamad Khan. Their aim was to improve the socio-economic conditions of underprivileged communities. Coming from a rural background, the founder understood the challenges faced by marginalized families. With the encouragement and support of respected community elders, he dedicated himself to creating meaningful change for those who shared similar struggles.
With a team of committed members, MDS has focused on integrated development by involving people directly in the process. The main areas of work include child rights, education, health and hygiene, sustainable livelihood, and women’s empowerment. Over the years, MDS has built strong and lasting relationships with government departments, non-government organizations, corporate partners, and the communities it serves.
In Mau district and across Uttar Pradesh, MDS has carried out various development initiatives centered on community participation. We strongly believe in the abilities of local people and work to channel their strengths for the benefit of society. Our efforts aim to create an environment where individuals can think positively, take initiative, and access better opportunities. We also focus on building the skills and capacities of communities so they can sustain and manage the assets created through different projects.
This belief system has shaped our holistic and participatory approach to rural development. We follow an inclusive model that reaches every section of society, especially the underprivileged, and we work closely with existing village-level structures to support long-term development.
